Dr. Melissa Hayhurst grew up in Tempe, Arizona, and earned her bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology with a minor in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2020.
During her time at ASU, she competed on the club water ski team and volunteered with the Arizona Animal Welfare League. She attended veterinary school through Washington State University, completing her first two years at Utah State University and her final two years in Pullman at WSU, graduating in May 2026.
Dr. Hayhurst’s professional interests include nutrition, neurology, oncology, client communication and preventative medicine. She enjoys building relationships with pet owners to help them make informed decisions and provide the best possible care for their pets.
After several years away, Dr. Hayhurst is excited to return home to the Valley and serve the community where she was raised. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time at the lake, being with her family, attending spin classes, working out and country dancing. She has two cats at home named Josie and Juno.
